Description

Job Description - Including but not limited to:

Learn to safely handle and load steel sheets onto cutting table using overhead crane
Unload cut parts from cutting table, identifying them and ensure parts are routed to the correct department for the next operation.
Ensure parts are defect free and correct by measuring dimensions of finished work pieces.
Work with heavy gauge steel and large parts.
Remove Skeletons from the cutting table
Learn to read shop drawings accurately to produce parts according to specifications
Perform inspections on finished products to ensure products produced meet quality standards
Learn to read specifications and follow verbal instructions
Verify material and jobs are matching product on table
Learn to use various measuring instruments e.g. Vernier calipers, protractor, measuring tape, micrometer
Keep work area clean and organized
Perform daily maintenance to keep clean and ensure machines are working well
Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency through continuous improvement initiative
Follow standard work procedures when operating machinery to ensure optimal performance of the equipment and to ensure only quality product is produced

Skills & Experience required

2+ years of experience ideally working with steel.
Experience with forklift, jib/overhead cranes is required
Keen attention to detail, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to multitask
Heavy lifting may be required (up to 50lbs), gripping, pinching, twisting
Physical job, required to be on your feet all day, moving around consistently
Able to work quickly with mínimal supervision
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Willingness to learn other jobs and potentially advance to other positions
Take pride in your work
Enjoy learning new things, work well on your own and contribute to a team environment

What We Offer
Monday to Friday 2:15 pm to 10:15 pm - NON Rotating
Wage based on experience

Looking to start as soon as possible
