  • The Corporate Health Consultant provides health consultation, medical review, recommendations, expertise and clarity to members, management, Human Resources (HR) staff and external health care providers on health issues, conditions and diagnosis that are or may impact an employee's abilities to perform their full working duties

Primary duties include:

  • Gather, interpret, summarize, and distribute medical information to HR staff, management, employees and unions.
  • Provide medical expertise, advice, guidance and consultation to management and HR staff on complex health issues.
  • Collaborate with service providers, health practitioners and treatment providers to evaluate, identify, and implement treatment plans, accommodations if needed and courses of action.
  • Review or refer employees to determine their fitness for work using medical expertise training and best practices.
  • Work with external health care providers and professionals to identify and evaluate complex healthrelated issues that affect employees' abilities.
  • Develop and implement courses of action that will address issues and support the members health and safety.
  • Create and implement corporate healthrelated policies, procedures, programs, strategies and systems.

Qualifications
***A Designation as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse and a member in good standing of the related professional body.

A minimum of 5 years related experience in disability management, substance use or mental health, preferably in a large, multi-union work environment.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in Psychiatric Nursing, Occupational Health and/or addressing substance dependency concerns.
Success in this position requires analytical thinking, change management, coaching and development and efficiency and thoroughness. An effective communicator with a focus on results and the ability to build strong relationships.

- work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
