Position summary


The Human Resources Generalist will provide guidance and support for a full range of human resource services by improving, building and maintaining processes while maintaining a superior level of client service to employees and managers at all levels of the company.


What you'll do here

Recruitment

  • Coordinate the recruitment activities within the assigned portfolio and participation in the full cycle of the recruitment process by working closely with the hiring manager and talent acquisition.
  • Orientation and onboarding of new employees
  • Conduct recruitment metric including developing reports and tracking retention to ensure process effectiveness

Performance Management

  • Support organizational Continuous Development program by providing guidance, coaching managers, training and support on the program
  • Discipline and employee management including providing advice and counsel around progressive discipline measures and termination processes
  • Coordinate with managers to substantiate the decision to ensure compliance with legislative practice
  • Coach Managers on the termination procedure, provide guidance and support throughout the process

Compensation

  • Maintain and develop the compensation reviews, validate job documentation to ensure it is complete and appropriate reporting functions with respect to compensation
  • Administer compensation system, review packages and coordinate annual reviews by all levels of management

Disability Management

  • Assist employees with inquires to ensure the claim process in line with company procedures
  • Monitor and evaluate ongoing correspondence with benefit carrier for accurate claim processing and follow up

Health and Safety

  • Administer WSIB/WCB/CSST and the Claim Management process
  • Process Worker Compensation Claims
  • Maintain Clearance Certificate process for all branches across Canada

Other Duties/Projects

  • As assigned by management
  • Collaborate on HR special projects and research initiatives

What you bring to the table:

  • A university degree or college diploma in human resources or related field (CHRP designation an asset)
  • 3+ years' experience in a Human Resources role and working towards CHRP designation
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A creative and strategic thinker; able to manage long
- and short-term initiatives concurrently and attention to detail and accuracy is a must

  • A team player with a proven problem solving ability, ability to multitask, works well under pressure, adapts well to change
  • Effective time management/prioritization skills
  • Detail oriented, possessing strong analytical skills and the ability to work selfmanaged or collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility to travel and willingness to work long hours as required on occasion
  • Able to excel in a changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and decision making skills when faced with conflict situations or sensitive employee relations matters
  • Excellent relationship building skills, interpersonal
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information
