Position Description
The Director, Professional Services is responsible for building TWC's Professional Services practice area.

Key functions of the role include growing the Professional Services team, business development, refining management consulting related methodologies, and working with the team on the delivery and execution of Professional Services.

The Director must be passionate about bringing innovative approaches and best practices to Professional Services delivery, specifically by bringing together Indigenous and Western ways of knowing into projects.


Professional Services at TWC include but are not limited to the following: facilitation, reconciliation, information management, training, program evaluation, climate adaptation, referral support, strategic planning, public engagement, and equity, diversity, and inclusion.


Duties and Responsibilities

Business Line Management

  • Establish, lead, and manage the Professional Services team.
  • Drive growth in TWC's Professional Services area while continuing to support development of the team to execute the work.
  • Develop guidance and training in the service area.
  • Manage resourcing and project allocations within the Professional Services team in collaboration with others on the TWC team.
  • Lead by example to promote a positive and progressive team Health & Safety culture.

Business Development

  • Recognize emerging opportunities in the industry, pursue and obtain new business, and take an active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with industry, government, Indigenous partners, and other external stakeholders to generate repeat business.
  • Establish TWC's technical reputation and brand by contributing to industry events & conferences.
  • Lead proposal development for Professional Services related work.

Technical Work

  • Refine TWC methods in the Professional Services area in collaboration with team members to keep up with best practices.
  • Review the preparation of Professional Servicesrelated deliverables for TWC's projects.
  • Provide technical and regulatory oversight to projects that interact with Professional Servicesrelated elements of TWC's work.
  • Work with the other TWC teams to bring Indigenous Knowledge into Professional Services
- related deliverables.

  • Other related duties as may be required.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor or graduate degree (preferred) in a related field 10+ years of relevant and progressive experience, including professional management consulting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience producing management consulting deliverables.
  • Experience working with diverse clients including Indigenous Nations, businesses, and government.
  • Experience growing or leading an established practice area in consulting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate individuals with a variety of communication and personality traits.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality customer service while balancing competing interests.
  • Familiarity with Indigenous Knowledge and Indigenous ways of knowing is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience authoring technical reports and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated, positive team player, who collaborates effectively and respectfully with others.

Working Location
Work will be typically performed in one of TWC's offices or your remote home office. Some project assignments may require a presence at client sites, including offices, project operations, communities, and other premises.


Travel


Occasional travel will be required to achieve the duties and responsibilities above to serve the needs of clients and TWC.

How to Apply

Salary:
$150,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
