Here's what you'll be doing....

Lead and enhance the customer experience, in collaboration with the Senior Store Manager.

Ensure customer service floor teams are engaged, well trained, collaborative, deliver an outstanding customer experience and maximize revenue in a cost-efficient manner.

Ensure the floor is well stocked and presentable; assist in running the cash operations in collaboration with the Customer Experience Manager.

Support the Senior Store Manager in various duties and act as their replacement during absence.

The store management team focus is to excel in the day to day execution of retail operations leading to continuous revenue growth and building a loyal customer base.


Working Hours:
Normal working hours are 7.25 hours daily, 36.25 hours weekly. Rotation of weekend and evening shifts is required. A certain amount of overtime will be required from time to time, especially during peak periods.


Key Responsibilities include:
Retail Floor Management

  • Collaborate with Director of Procurement and Merchandise and Senior Store Manager to review floor setup and product levels; change displays to promote new product launches and reflect seasonal themes; help prepare for any outsourced contractor work
  • Create daily task lists for direct team members to ensure consistent product flow, break times, and event coverage; train and coach new associates to ease acclimation to the team
  • Provide leadership and operational support when other managers are away; perform opening and closing tasks
  • Keep stockrooms and store fixtures organized and accessible
  • Complete regular product transfers to satellite locations
  • Prepare and provide support to anchor occasional singleday offsite events and oversee longterm onsite events such as summer lawn sales
  • Prepare, organize, and lead the team through annual inventory; support other department teams in the annual inventory; write off defective or broken merchandise; mark down damaged product; perform cycle counts to ensure that correct stockonhand quantities
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure signage is up to date
  • Assist departments with remerchandising larger sections in their areas, product pulls, customer inquiries and interstaff crossing training opportunities
  • Support to keep receiving organized by ensuring product is worked efficiently; collaborate with Receiving Manager to properly prioritize products
  • Provide suggestions on improving operational processes
  • Ensure floor teams maintain health and safety policies and practices
  • Support the events team as necessary
  • Other related duties as assigned

Education, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • University/College graduate, or an equivalent education and work experience
  • At least 2 years' retail experience, which includes 1 year of supervisory experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Acts in alignment to with the organizational culture, products, image and target market
  • Result orientated leader with aptitude for change management
  • Current knowledge and experience of store management, retail operations and trends within retail business
  • Experience in leading multifunctional store team
  • Excellent data analytical skills; an aptitude for numbers
  • Comfortable working in a handson, physically demanding environment
  • Energetic with a positive attitude and outstanding customer service skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning is highly valued a growth mindset
