    Description
    Transportation Coordinator

    Hours – 9AM -5PM Monday to Friday (in office)

    Location:
    Aurora (St. John's sideroad and Leslie


    Pay:
    $50,000-$53,000/ yr

    Benefits after 3 months
    2 week vacation

    This position supports all shipping and logistics functions ensuring effective and timely coordination of information both internally and externally with customers, customs, freight carriers, manufacturers, warehouses

    This position supports the outbound / inbound flow of products to customers across Canada, USA, and to international markets through a network of transport carriers.

    This position investigates discrepancies, issues and inquiries related to the warehouses and carriers used for shortages, damages, late deliveries.

    This position has accountability to support other functions involved in the shipment of products (eg SCM, buyers, Customer Service Manager etc.).


    Duties and responsibilities
    Resolve warehouse and freight carrier inquiries and issues:


    • Deal directly with customer service for overage / shortage / damaged shipments.
    • Place claims with carriers on short / damaged shipments providing back up.
    • Liaise with warehouses on inventory counts for customer claims and complaints.
    • Arrange for carrier pickups from vendors for collect shipments and or returns from customers.
    • Release orders for picking to the warehouse
    • Manage customer pick ups as well as sales staff pick ups (floor access)
    • Manage drivers from freight companies (floor access).
    • Follow up with carriers to ensure daily pickup of freight.
    Resolve and respond to customer inquiries related to shipments:


    • Investigate missing packing slips
    • Get freight quotes and transit time ETAs to respond directly to customer inquiries
    Back up for Import Coordinator role when requested for workload and/or absences:


    • Help with daily in-transit and product received postings
    • Follow up with forwarders on shipments
    • Arrange documentation for customs brokers

    Coordinate Proof of Deliveries (POD):

    • For Finance when required
    • For customers on request before payments are made
    • For customers who short pay invoices without notification to determine if there was any shortage/damage and/or place claims with carriers
    Warehouse Transfers


    • Prepare customs invoices for transfers and arrange transport
    • Post transfers in transit
    • Follow up on all transfer orders to make sure they ship timely
    • Process stock adjustments for warehouses
    Support any related coordination needed within Supply Chain and any special projects

    Qualifications


    • With in a 40 min commute
    • 3-5 years working in a warehouse environment as a coordinator.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent Excel skills required.
    • Knowledge of warehouse procedures
    • Ability to be flexible and prioritize.
    • Ability to follow safety practices (must wear safety shoes).
    • Clear criminal check
    • Experience with cross boarder
    • WMS System
