About us:


The Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation (CTSI) provides leadership in teaching and learning at the University of Toronto and serves as the University's central teaching "hub".

In a dynamic and highly collaborative environment, CTSI provides support for pedagogy and pedagogy-driven instructional technology for all teaching staff and teaching assistants across the University's campuses and divisions.

Its services include organizing special events and programming for instructors and teaching assistants related to a range of teaching topics, including educational technologies; conducting personalized and confidential consultations; offering job training and a certificate program for teaching assistants; supporting inquiry into teaching through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning; providing pedagogical guidance for the use of the institutional learning management system (Quercus); and supporting the institutional online course evaluation system.

Driven by the latest advancements in higher education practices and informed by emerging research in post-secondary teaching and learning, CTSI staff work directly with faculty, graduate students, departments and divisions and in partnership with a range of University offices to enhance teaching and learning across the institution.


Your opportunity:


Under the general direction of the Director and Associate Director, CTSI and supervision of the Manager, Evaluation & Assessment, the Project Manager, Course Evaluations, is an integral member of the CTSI team leading the operation of course evaluations across 21 University divisions (around 5000 evaluations each semester).

This incumbent plays a leading role inmanaging and supporting the central course evaluation system software, coordinating external support with the software vendor and working with divisions to ensure that the course evaluation system continues to operate effectively and efficiently, to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.

This incumbent will lead the development of faculty-specific guidelines and procedures for course evaluations, which results in several formalized guidelines for localized evaluation administration.

This incumbent will also establish and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders by identifying common goals and areas of shared ownership over projects.

The incumbent's extensive project management experience along with their ability to exercise solid critical thinking, analytical, collaborative, and problem-solving skills will be key to their success in this role.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Developing charter, scope, resources and schedule for projects
  • Developing information management methods in order to optimize the use of data
  • Implementing a communications plan to keep stakeholders informed
  • Designing presentations of data analysis findings
  • Delivering presentations topromote programs, opportunities and/or initiatives

Essential Qualifications:


  • Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years' related, progressively responsible project management experience, preferably in public sector.
  • Experience in leading change management
  • Demonstrated experience in a project management capacity, including experience with all aspects of process development and execution
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead a team
  • Experience designing and/or developing evaluation tools (i.e. surveys, interviews)
  • Indepth knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, techniques, tools and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver on timesensitive initiatives
  • Demonstrated initiative in seeing projects through to completion
  • Proven leadership, collaboration, and motivational skills, including the ability to influence others toward a common goal
  • High degree of diplomacy and tact; strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced proficiency with MS 365 Suite, learning management systems and student information systems, with the flexibility, adaptability, and desire to seek out, learn and embrace new and emerging technology
  • Proficiency with a data management system
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines using analytical and problemsolving capabilities

Assets (Nonessential):


  • Experience with a database management system
  • Formal project management training, PMP designation
  • Experience working in a higher education academic setting
