Seeking technicians located in any of the following regions:KW, Hamilton & Brantford**We are seeking Technicians who are mechanically inclined with a construction schooling and/or background to join the Frost Building Systems Team.


Frost Building Systems is a Brantford based construction and service company that specializes in commercial/industrial cladding, installation of insulated doors.

We are seeking a resourceful, dependable, and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Junior Service Technician specializing in overhead doors, loading docks and freezer and cooler doors.


Schedule:
Available to work 8-hour, 10 hour or 12-hour shift Monday - Friday. Overtime may be required and is a great opportunity to improve your total income


What You'll Do:


  • Assist with performing Preventative Maintenance (PMP) and completing PMP sheets. Assist with Preventative Maintenance (PMP) allowance, perform small repairs while on site, work on parts requirements and scheduling.
  • Assist with picking up and delivering equipment/parts from various manufacturers/suppliers to the customer site, and other duties as assigned by the senior service technician and management.
  • Assist in planning, layout, fabrication, assembly, installations, and repairs to equipment as directed from your Lead Service Technicians
  • Assist in filling out job site worksheets, work orders and customer required forms and documentations. Assist in monitoring proper truck inventory levels and maintaining the truck.
  • Take direction from your Senior Technician daily and shall be required to possess the skillsets and hand tools required to advance
  • Assist in the installation and repair of insulated panels, doors, door equipment,
  • Assist in job preparation, stocking of parts, maintenance of site. Complete work orders, timesheets and any other task assigned by the service manager or Lead Service Technician
  • Installation, diagnosis, repair, and replacement of equipment (mechanical, hydraulic and electrical). Completion of all forms in a timely and appropriate fashion.
  • Always keep truck clean and operational. Maintain adequate levels of stock of required parts on your truck (identify and report when quantities are low and you require reordering).
  • Put away items returned to the warehouse. Properly dispose of materials removed from customer sites and keeping the work site clean and safe. Constantly improve on product knowledge to better service our customer

What You'll Need:


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent plus a valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Maintenance or mechanical experience, industry experience and electrical knowledge are all an asset but not required. We are seeking individuals with a desire to learn on the job as well.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Skills in effective time management, organization, multitasking, and prioritization. Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently such as scissor lift, forklift, and hand tools, etc.
  • Operation of aerial work platforms and forklifts is an asset but not required
  • Knowledge of various types of insulated panel systems as well as other siding and roofing systems is an asset but not required.
  • Installation, repair, and replacement of insulated metal doors, panels and enclosures (an asset but not required)
  • Confident in using all types of manual and powered hand tools. Once trained and up to speed then must be able to work with mínimal supervision.
  • Experience with health and safety on construction and industrial work sites including working at heights, WHIMIS, etc is an asset however can be trained and certification provided.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to: Stand or walk for long periods of time during a regular work day; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other climbing devices; carry tools and equipment; work while in stooped, kneeling, crouched, and crawling positions; be able to see naturally or with correction, to safely perform designated tasks.
  • Must be able to: Perform assigned tasks under all types of environmental and weather conditions including severe cold, extreme heat, wet or dry weather and high winds.
  • Environmental conditions may include areas where toxic or caustics chemicals or fumes are in use or being stored.
  • Noise intensity level of 4; Proximity to moving mechanical parts; Working in high, exposed levels as well as in close, cramped quarters.
  • May be required to operate or work around powderactuated hand tools such as ramsets, Hiltiguns, etc.
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time
