Summary of responsibilities:


The Operator, Security Operations Centre (SOC) is responsible to receive, record and report all critical security incidents and information cases at CATSA designated airports and to disseminate such information to CATSA Management and key stakeholders.

The Operator, SOC performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.


What you need to succeed

To qualify for the position, you must have:

  • Successful completion of a high school or college diploma.
  • A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years experience working in a client service role in an operational environment or communications centre utilizing a central repository service, or as a dispatcher.
  • Experience responding to emergency calls/situations.

This position is best suited to individuals with the following skills and abilities:

Valuable skills include:


  • Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation impacting CATSA.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and comfortable using technology such as CCTV.
  • Knowledge of the aviation industry.
  • Experience drafting reports.
  • Experience working in an airport environment.
  • Knowledge of the law or security field.

Specific work requirements:


  • Ability to work overtime as required;
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Language Profile: BBCC;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
