Role Description:

Ensure HR operational service and delivery activities are continuously maintained and improved. Manage core HR data systems, platforms, software, etc. to maintain employment info, data processing and other HR operational workflows that span the employee lifecycle. Maintain employee filing systems and other core HR data and processing information.
This position will involve participation in various HR & Corporate Services projects. This position will serve as back - up to the Resources function and Corporate Services team.


Responsibilities:


  • Identify and develop automating or streamlining opportunities to help gain efficiencies and improve the client experience.
  • Enter employee HR data, prepare basic data feeds, perform data validation checks, reply to basic employment inquiries, etc. to support and maintain core HR systems and processes.
  • Collect new hire / onboarding documentation, validate information / documentation is correctly completed (followup as needed) and help maintain employment fling systems (paper and/or digital), immigration / work permit records and other core HR data / processing information.
  • Source information for educational, training and/or marketing efforts to help increase the accuracy and internal adoption of ondemand (selfservice) HR initiatives.
  • Understand HR service level targets and monitor direct performance / contribution toward achieving stated targets.
  • Protect the integrity of the function through accuracy of overall work product and speed to completion.
  • Provide timely, professional, and accurate resolution to the business line / internal clients regarding operational inquiries and/or standard HR policy and HR system questions. Start to develop a rapport with and understanding of the various business lines. Collaborate with peers and partners across HR operations to identify innovative processing / execution opportunities and to help meet or exceed SLA targets.
  • Build relationships across functions with frequent crossover interaction including technology, compliance, legal and audit to help resolve or complete HR operational projects and challenges
  • Participate (active engagement) in and contribute to problemsolving and new ideas (challenge when applicable) in meetings.

Key Accountabilities:


  • Payroll administration
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of and help maintain payroll guidelines, policies and processes. Effectively communicate payroll guidelines with others, where applicable. Escalate anomalies / outliers in data, calculation, processes and procedures to help maintain the integrity of the function
  • Compensation administration
  • Support the yearend compensation review process with efficiency and accuracy, focusing on mínimal errors and speed, as well as optimal retention and motivation. Prepare analytics and interface with line managers to gather proposals and ensure information is properly stored and audited.
  • Prepare data submissions for market benchmarking and help analyze the external data to support decisionmaking both within the HR area and the business
  • Benefits administration:
  • Provide policy interpretation, eligibility determination and daytoday administration of benefits.
  • HR Reporting
  • Prepare and aggregate HRIS data, reporting and dashboards.
  • Prepare data and information reports as per business and Compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of desktop procedures, guidelines and HRIS documentation. Support overall database integrity and protect privacy and data security by understanding HRIS platform(s), processes and policies.
  • Assist with the execution of mass data changes, HR data retention maintenance, help monitor workflows / notifications and contribute to testing / validation.
  • Monitor the status of HR tickets in the HRIS system.
  • HR vendor management
  • Onboarding and follow up of HR contracts in the banks vendor management system (Coupa)
  • Health & Safety
  • Participation in the Joint Health & Safety Committee. Administers the bank's health & safety programs

Qualifications and Skills:


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:


Knowledge & Experience:


  • Completion of postsecondary education in Human Resources
  • Minimum of 2 years' work experience in a progressive Human Resources function. Prior related experience in a financial institution would be preferable. Knowledge and experience in the operation of a Schedule III Bank would be an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years payroll processing experience in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Demonstrate a foundational understanding of Canadian employment / labor laws to help support compliance across activities. Research trends and/or ideas related to HR operations (and HR broadly), tech & ops advancements and/or business insights to take on stretch assignments and/or exceed team and SLA standards.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems. Past experience working with SAP Success Factors will be an asset.
  • Strong reasoning ability: understand complex situations
