ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

The John Noble Home (JNH) is a "Class A" facility and has a proud and long-standing care-giving tradition, dating back to 1881.

Today, we offer several different quality programs devoted to senior housing, care, and services that operate within our care campus.

All meet and serve the needs of both Brant County and the City of Brantford and their respective constituents as we are a municipally operated and governed facility.

The John Noble Home consists of 156 long term care beds with planned expansion, a community-based day & stay program and senior's apartments.

Prepares and cooks all meals including entrees, vegetables, soups, desserts and bakery products, according to the daily menu for the residents, staff and visitors.

Meals will be prepared in accordance with Public Health Standards and following the Ministry of Health Long Term Care Standards.

While performing any and all duties of the position the employee will work in a safe and healthy manner and will follow the regulations outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.


  • Chef's training or culinary management diploma or certificate,
  • Granted by a college established under the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology Act, 2002,
    or:
  • Granted by a registered private career college, for successfully completing a program approved by the Superintendent of Private Career Colleges under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005;
    or
  • A diploma or certificate granted in another jurisdiction and a set of skills that, in the reasonable opinion of the licensee, is equivalent to those that the licensee would expect of a person who has a diploma or certificate as above;
    or:
  • A certificate of qualification as a cook under the Apprenticeship and Certification Act, 1998, or after Part III of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 comes into force, by the Registrar of the College under the Act;
    or:
  • A post secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or a post secondary degree in food and nutrition.
  • Minimum two years institutional cooking experience preferred.

HOURLY RATE:
$24.60 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation.
