Description
The goal of the City of Burnaby and its employees is to consistently deliver first class service and services to our community.
This is supervisory work in coordinating the activities of a large group of subordinates engaged in janitorial, custodial, patrol and security work in Municipal parks, recreation buildings and sites.
hires, trains and conducts performance reviews; Prepares, monitors and controls the department's custodial, security and building maintenance budgets; purchases supplies and equipment and prepares and maintains a variety of records and reports.
Participates in preparing and reviewing preventive maintenance schedules, service and repair estimates for civic buildings; liaises with other municipal departments with respect to parks building maintenance and repair matters.
examines new products, equipment, materials and methods applicable to the work, makes recommendations regarding the purchase or implementation of same to a supervisor.
considerable related experience in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in janitorial, custodial, and minor building repair and maintenance work; of Parks facilities in terms of their location, uses and hours of operation; departmental policy and procedures governing the work performed.
Ability to prepare, monitor, and control the department's custodial, security and building maintenance budgets, and to prepare cost estimates for custodial services.
A Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia is required.This is temporary full time opportunity until December 31, 2024.
