About ADM

About the Position

This position will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a flour production plant in Montreal during the various shifts.

This position will be responsible for production logistics, receipt of raw materials, shipment of finished products, coordination of the sanitation and pest control program, as well as all other related tasks related to the smooth running of the plant's activities.

This position reports to the Plant Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities

Health & Safety:


  • As a frontline collaborator, ensure that the work environment is safe for all employees, contractors and visitors present on site
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to health and safety
  • Support and continue to develop the team's commitment to health and safety
  • Identify and implement the tools necessary for a safe work environment
  • Follow ADM's health and safety standards and report unsafe behaviors or conditions
  • Ensure that all employees at all levels take responsibility and follow the rules.

Food Quality & Safety:


  • Collaborate with departments to maintain an environment that ensures customers receive a healthy and safe product for consumption
  • Responsible for ensuring that finished products are shipped to required specifications, while ensuring that quality assurance and food safety programs are applied and adhered to
  • Work with the quality department to proactively identify, address and correct any situations that may impact food quality and safety
  • Collaborate with departments to meet customer expectations.

Sanitation & Pest Control:


  • Conduct weekly inspections, view various indicators and trends related to insect control, investigate potential problems, and recommend or implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate, coordinate and ensure the completion of daily and weekly cleaning tasks for the entire plant with departments
  • Management and followup of the recommendations of the mandated company against pest control
  • Act as a pivotal person, in collaboration with the company mandated for pest control during fumigation or other treatments.

Profitability and production efficiency

  • Actively collaborate in the management of plant operations, including but not limited to:
  • Reduce costs and ensure optimization of production equipment
  • Reducing or eliminating barriers to production
  • Reduction and elimination of losses
  • Asset Management & Preservation

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of industrial equipment and processes
  • Recognized leadership and autonomy
  • Strong communication and coaching skills
  • Demonstrate a high capacity to withstand the stress of the manufacturing environment
  • Dynamism, flexibility and organizational skills
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must have a history of demonstrating safe workplace behaviour and a sincere desire to follow and improve health and safety policies and procedures (any health and safety leadership experience will be considered an asset).

Education or Work Experience

  • Experience in managing people in a unionized environment (asset)
  • Experience in food manufacturing/processing
  • High school diploma.

  • Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation
  • Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements
  • Relocation support is not available for this position.
