    Description

    Northern College is seeking an Administrative Assistant, Apprenticeship in our Apprenticeship department. The successful candidate will have strong communications and organizational skills as well as be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The successful candidate should be familiar with Microsoft Office as well as be familiar with Management Software.

    Reporting to the Dean, Trades, Technology and Apprenticeship, the successful candidate will ensure effective department operation and provide administrative duties to the Dean, Trades, Technology and Apprenticeship as required. They will facilitate communication amongst internal/external stakeholders and provide confidential services in support of the development and delivery of programs on-site, college-wide and/or via distance. The successful candidate ensures that the program structure is congruent, that the course is aligned, and that proper program documentation is provided.

    What you will be doing:

  • Compile Ministry reports and prepare/process documents such as program timetable creation, program synopsis verification and data entry for Standard Workload Forms (SWFs);
  • Collaborate with Program Advisory Committee members in planning and administrating meetings;
  • Collate, distribute and ensure timelines are met for all course-related materials in collaboration with faculty to ensure compliance with Ministry standards, as well as College, academic, and departmental policies and procedures;
  • Maintain complete and accurate student records;
  • Ensure program integrity through the effective management of synopses/course outlines each academic year in compliance with the College's Quality Assurance policies and procedure; and
  • Facilitate the transfer credit process and prepare student amendment records.

    What you will need to be considered:

  • 2-year diploma in Office Administration or equivalent; and
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with office systems and software.
