Mission Statement
Staff of the Regina Open Door Society (RODS) must operate at all times within the mandate of service to provide settlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants in Regina.

Position Summary
The Child Care Janitor is responsible for the daily general cleaning of the child care centre as well as additional weekly and monthly cleaning duties.
Requirements:
- _Clean criminal record check_
- _ Minimum of 1 year experience providing cleaning services is preferred_

Specific Competencies
- Knowledge of sanitization/disinfecting procedures and safety precautions and procedures when using cleaning agents/chemicals and equipment
- Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures
- Basic knowledge of building security system procedures
- Basic skill in working with general janitorial equipment including a floor scrubber, vacuum, carpet cleaner and sanitizing sprayer

Duties and Responsibilities
Daily Cleaning
- Sweep and mop floors
- Vacuum carpets
- Take out garbage
- Sanitize common surfaces
- Clean bathroom toilets and sinks
Weekly Cleaning
- mini fridges
- garbage receptacles
- step stools scrubbed and disinfected
Monthly Cleaning
- Carpets and soft furniture
- Lofts
- Deep clean/scrub and sanitize chairs and tables
- Window sills washed
- Wash walls
- Floor edges and baseboards
- Bathroom cubicles and walls
Semi-Annual Cleaning
- Wash windows
- Lockers moved and cleaned behind

Salary Level/Classification
The classification for this position is Admin1 Step 1. The annual salary for this position is $15,935.40 at $20.43/hour plus additional hours as needed.
Working Conditions and Application Instructions
Work is performed in the child care centre outside of operational hours. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to perform cleaning tasks.
Hours of work are 3 hours per day Monday to Friday after 5:30 pm for daily cleaning. Start time is flexible. Additional hours for weekly, monthly and semi-annual cleaning can be done with flexibility during evenings and weekends as needed.
_There is a one month initial trial period being paid as casual hours to ensure suitability prior to regular part time position.
_All positions at RODS require a clean criminal record check.
There is a cost shared benefits package and 3% pension contribution available to the employee with a successful completion of a six-month probationary period.
