    Thinking about a change?

    We are looking for a Web Developer to join our Insights and Analytics team on contract basis until December 2024 (possibility of extension). You will work alongside our technical data team and report to the AI, Project Manager and work with the Sr. Data Engineer. Your main tasks will include the development and documentation of web services for the I&A team. To succeed in this role, you should have advanced programming skills, preferably with Python, Django, and relational databases. You will also need to demonstrate excellent communication skills.

    As a Web Developer you will:

  • Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Support stakeholders through the onboarding of new programs.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, clients, the I&A team, and managerial staff to document processes, issues and opportunities and find improvements.
  • Design, build, test, and document a web-based platform with the support and direction of the Senior Data Engineer.
  • Monitor data quality and metrics, and take corrective actions as need arises.
  • Conduct data analysis and interpretation using various tools and techniques, such as SQL, Excel, Power BI, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Supporting holistically resolving Operational issues.
  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
  • Staying current on the latest processes and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, clients, I&A team, and managerial staff.
  • Updating, implementing, and maintaining procedures.
  • Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements.

    • Is this the right role for you?

  • A bachelor's degree/college diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience (business analyst/data analyst/web developer)
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases like Postgres (or MySQL, MS SQL)
  • Experience with BI tools like PowerBI (or Tableau/Looker)
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages like Python (or JavaScript)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Expertise using source code management tools and best practices (Git, Maven, etc.)
  • Able to work at the Mississauga Office two to three days per week to connect with the team

    • Nice to have:

  • Experience with any major web development frameworks (ideally Django)
  • Experience with major cloud service providers (ideally Azure/GCP)
  • Previous experience deploying and maintaining cloud-hosted web applications
