Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical and Mechanical Quality Control Technician to join our team.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings & schematics (mechanical & electrical)
  • Use basic mechanical tools & measuring equipment (hand tools, tape measures, fillet weld gauges, etc.)
  • Use basic electrical tools & measuring equipment (multimeters, power supplies / transformers, etc.)
  • Work with shipping & receiving to inspect & approve incoming materials
  • Perform initial, inprocess inspections & measurement checks on structural steel assemblies (I-Beam, C-Channel, HSS, angle iron & formed flat sheet materials).
  • Perform welding inspections (in coordination with company welders / welding supervisor) and finished product inspections on steel
  • Perform welding inspections (in coordination with company welders / welding supervisor)
  • Perform mechanical & electrical functional testing on finished products
  • Initiate & create reports for identification of nonconforming products
  • Collaborate with engineering & production on continuous improvement initiatives & opportunities
  • Prepare inspection & testing reports and maintain QC records
  • Assist with the continued implementation & improvement of company ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Able to travel to supplier locations and customer project sites (mínimal & mostly in Ont.)
  • Perform any additional duties or tasks your supervisor requests

Job Qualifications:


  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technician (with strong electrical knowledge) OR Electrical Engineering Technician (with strong mechanical knowledge), or equivalent QC experience
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Products
  • Selfmotivated, able to work with minimum supervision and be a good team player
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Attention to details
  • Planning and organizing
  • Problem analysis and problem solving
  • Knowledge of Low & Medium Voltage E-Houses & Switchgear
  • Knowledge of electrical codes & standard
  • Knowledge of steel / mechanical codes & techniques
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/ or AutoCAD viewer programs
  • Able to travel to supplier locations & customer project sites (mínimal & mostly in Ont.)
  • Own car & driver's license required
