THE OPPORTUNITY
St. Joseph's Care Group (SJCG) in Thunder Bay, Ontario is seeking

Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our team at our Hogarth Riverview Manor & Bethammi Nursing Homes. A wide variety of

full-time and part-time positions are currently available.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Personal Support Worker Certificate
  • OR Registration as a nurse or practical nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Experience working with elderly clients
  • Experience in a long term care home preferred
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.

ABOUT THE POSITION


The Personal Support Worker works under the close supervision of the Registered Nurse and Registered Practical Nurse, providing personal care to residents and respecting their physical, emotional, social, cultural and spiritual needs and preferences.

Personal Support Workers are active members of the Interprofessional Team, assisting in the planning, implementation and ongoing evaluation of individualized resident focused plans of care, in compliance with the Ontario Long Term Care Act.
