The Opportunity

McElhanney Ltd. has a rewarding opportunity for a drafter to join our leading-edge geospatial team in Vancouver, BC.

In this role, you will be responsible for using computer-assisted design (CAD) to take preliminary data and produce, edit, and/or modify technically accurate drawings and plans that meet legal, client and branch specifications.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to work with high-definition survey and mapping data such as drone imagery, orthophoto, terrestrial and airborne point clouds, as well as conventional survey data.


You're Fired Up To

:


  • Complete assigned drafting duties using computerassisted design (CAD) and create accurate drawings which follow company and project specific standards and guidelines per the direction of the project manager
  • Follow established practices and techniques to produce, edit, and modify standard drawings with technical accuracy from preliminary data provided by the Project Manager
  • Coordinate with other drafting and engineering team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved
  • Collaborate with other disciplines both internally and externally
  • Establish good rapport and build relationships with peers by responding to requests and communicating information in a timely manner
  • Comply with all company policies including safety policies and WCB regulations
  • Perform other related duties as required.

What You'll Bring To The Team

:


  • Diploma in Geomatics Engineering Technology or similar program, plus up to 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work with AutoDESK, AutoCAD and Civil 3D products to a high degree of proficiency
  • Ability to work with TBC, ArcGIS, Cyclone, TopoDot, Microstation, Revit would be a desirable asset but not necessary
  • Ability to have strong communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities and a willingness to work independently and in a highperforming team atmosphere
  • Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro and or Bluebeam
