    Foundations Estimator - Job Description

    Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Foundations Estimator will be responsible for developing a strategy and bidding approach for our foundation and piling projects.

    The Estimator is required to have a comprehensive understanding of civil construction and is responsible for taking ownership and delivering estimates of one or more bid tenders at a time.

    Reviewing project site prior to price preparation.
    # Obtains pricing from suppliers and Subcontractors and incorporate into estimate.
    # Oversees the distribution of appropriate documentation appropriately upon award of project.
    # Provide technical support to field staff.
    # Collaborates with Operations to drive project success and learning.
    # Performs Post Bid / Post Project Analysis completion and that associated learning and communication takes place.
    # Assists with RFP's and General Contract tender submissions.
    # Incorporates / complies with Aecon's risk management policies and procedures.
    # Maintains Estimating data systems to ensure they are kept up to date.

    Estimating experience on foundation, piling or heavy civil projects is an asset.
    Ability to interpret specifications as they pertain to all project scope, including risk.

    Consistently performs investigations of each tender, is able to interpret field constraints and incorporates findings into bids to ensure constructability.

    Demonstrated computer software proficiency- MS Excel/Word
    Experience with estimating software is considered an asset - Hard Dollar
    Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
    Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
