    Manager, Development Finance

    On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Manager to support the investments & development functions, working directly with the VP and supporting a pipeline of current and future development projects.

    The successful candidate will be a highly motivated relationship builder, with a passion for real estate development, and a desire to join a dynamic team.

    In addition, they will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for supporting a growing portfolio of development projects.

    This individual should possess strong analytical and underwriting skills to oversee projects from acquisition through design, approvals, construction, and closeout stages.

    The compensation package range is competitive and flexible depending on level of industry experience and exposure. Our client is an advocate for equity and diversity and recognizes the importance of leadership engagement within its framework.

    Lead underwriting activities on a growing portfolio of active development projects through due diligence, acquisition, planning approvals, construction and closeout phases working alongside internal teams and JV partners.

    Prepare proformas, project underwriting and budgets, as well as track and analyze current projects under development. Update cash flow projections, development pro-formas, JV waterfall models, and budget variance analysis regularly.
    Conduct market research and feasibility analysis for due diligence on new acquisitions.
    Compile required reports, job cost information, and accounting data to support cash calls.

    Lead research, assumptions, inputs, and financial analysis for decisions regarding development strategy, asset mix, budgets and schedules, financing, and sales strategies.

    Work closely with development, investments, and accounting teams to streamline processes and data sharing.
    Support investor and management update reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
    Generate and maintain development project reports and files.
    5+ years of experience working in investments and/or analysis for real estate development projects.
    ~ Degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, and/or Real Estate preferred.
    ~ Passion and interest in real estate development.
    ~ Financial acumen to lead complex underwriting, project budgeting and financial reporting.
    ~ Attention to detail to review, organize, and analyze large amounts of data.
    ~ Collaborative attitude with the capacity and willingness to manage multiple tasks by being flexible/adaptable and responding to changing circumstances.
