Skills and Responsibilities:

• Netezza appliance administration. Monitoring hardware of the appliance and networks connected to the appliance.

• Platform and firmware upgrade with assistance from IBM Support.

• Work with IBM Support to fix any hardware issues such as Disk failures, SPU failures, Network configuration issues, etc

• Hands on exp in backup and restore in same appliance and different appliances. Knowledge of Netezza internals, structures, and system tables.

• Good knowledge in Netezza migration from on-premises appliance to NPS .

• Good knowledge in NPS server.

• Knowledge in IBM Cloud pak. Perform database backup and recovery task and data migration across environments.

• Creating Materialized Views & Providing Cross Netezza Database Access.

• Good knowledge in data modeling.

• Assist with Netezza SQL and scripting.

• Monitor Netezza events and event processing.

• Perform periodic "health check" on Netezza appliances and proactively tune the system. Work independently, while operating in a team environment - interacting with business users and developers and providing support.

• User and group administration in Netezza.

• Hands on exp in database security and privileges.

• Hands on exp in Linux administration and Shell scripting Hands on exp in Aginity Bench, putty, Cogniti pro, Tectia tools. Able to work in 24/7 shift model.
