Communications Specialist, High Priority Communities Strategy.

WellFort is seeking a Full time Temporary Communication Specialist to join our team


Start Date:
Immediately

End Date:
March 31, 2023 with possibility of extension
May include evenings, weekends, and some holidays

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Support communication for WellFort's programs
  • Develop promotional materials and presentations on behalf of the organization
  • Prepare and distribute programming specific communications and promotions
  • Develop content and maintain an updated website and social media accounts
  • Design and develop illustrations, layouts, posters, and digital signage for internal and external usage
  • Provide strategic social media direction and counsel
  • Responsible for strategy, process, management, and implementation of social media content. Acts as point person for social response matrix.
  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends
  • Create engaging text, image, and video content
  • Design attractive and engaging posts
  • Stay up to date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Create online surveys and report reviews and feedback from clients
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree from a recognized institution in Communications or an equivalent combination of education and significant experience in communications/Marketing.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a Marketing/Communications Coordinator role
  • Strong knowledge and skills in social media and creative content creation/engagement is required
  • Experience creating Social Media campaigns
  • Excellent event coordination skills (planning/implementation)
  • Experience with creation/development of online educational resources
  • Completion of or enrolment in an editorial skills program is an asset
  • Excellent communication and writing skills (written and spoken)
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills
  • Strong knowledge of social media management (i.e., Facebook, twitter, Instagram)
  • Experience working with graphic and video software (i

e, Canva, Adobe:
InDesign,

Photoshop, Premier, Illustrator, etc.)

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Experience working with communities and individuals who face barriers accessing tradition health care institutions such as poverty, discrimination, mental health, and substance use issues.
  • An understanding of and critical analysis of the determinants of health and social factors, such as power dynamics that affect individual, organizational and community health.
  • Experience working with confidential and time sensitive documents and information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • Experience working in a value based nonprofit or social services organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and interdependently in an interdisciplinary team environment in which the skills and responsibilities of each team member are recognized and respected.
This position requires flexibility in hours of work to support accessible program service delivery and our hours of operation. As such the position entails evening and weekend work.

Annual salary range:
$44,568-$52,568 (prorated to number of months) inclusive of vacation pay

VACCINATION REQUIREMENT:


As a condition of employment, new WellFort staff must be fully vaccinated unless they have received an exemption from vaccination under the Human Rights Code.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status will be required before the first day of work or, proof of religious or medical exemption, if or where applicable.


Fully vaccinated is defined as having received the completed series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine, as recommended by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health and having received the final dose at least 14 days before your employment start date.


Salary:
$44,568.00-$52,568.00 per year
