Assistant, Administrative

The Opportunity:


Are you an administrative professional who loves organizing and keeping up to date records? Canadian Natural is looking for you As the Administrative Assistant supporting the Horizon Upgrading Operations and Maintenance group, you will assist in the achievement of departmental goals as they support Horizon U2 goals and targets.

In addition, you will ensure consistent and timely flow of information between teams in a very fluid work environment. You will excel in this role by utilizing your strong time management and initiative skillset.


Key Accountabilities

  • Work closely with management to provide administrative support to ensure smooth operation of projects and activities
  • Prepare communications, compile documents and reports with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Schedule and organize meetings, including facility arrangements and set up, preparation and distribution of agenda and meeting minutes
  • Schedule and coordinate travel arrangements and itineraries
  • Provide vacation coverage for other administrative assistants and lead as required
  • Excellence in customer service, problem solving and responding efficiently and timely to requests
  • Strong planning skills and ability to anticipate needs of Managers and Leads
  • Demonstrate levelheadedness and rational thinking when under pressure
  • Versatility, flexibility and willingness to work within frequently changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions within established policies, procedures and department objectives all while maintaining confidentiality

Other Details:


  • Location : Horizon site, Fort McMurray


  • Shift schedule: 4X

  • Monday to Thursday
  • Eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural's Relocation Regular Policy
  • Company Sponsored Fly-In/Fly-Out program from Edmonton and Calgary

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Office/Business Administration Certificate, Diploma or related education
  • Minimum 5 years' related industry experience in an administrative role
