Applications are invited for the regular position of part-time Global Customized Training and Consulting Assistant in the International Division. The starting salary is $26.26 /hr for a 24-hour work week. Additional hours may be required at peak times during the year such as start or end of term. Campus location may vary but will be based in Welland.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides confidential administrative support to the Manager, Global Customized Training and Consulting (GCTC)
  • Serves as the first point of contact welcoming new GCTC students, answering inquiries, and addressing problems and concerns
  • Compiles and tracks information for all GCTC programs and incoming students including appropriate data input in Salesforce and Sharepoint
  • Assists in planning and coordinating predeparture training and information sessions
  • Manages and monitors all GCTC shared mailboxes and ensures timely responses
  • Assists in the creation of schedules and itineraries relating to GCTC groups
  • Prepares meeting agendas and other routine correspondence for GCTC groups
  • Liaises with student services to assist with GCTC student inquires
  • Schedules rooms and logistics for regular meetings and presentations
  • Coordinates transportation for group activities and site visits
  • Communicates with international partners, agents, and government funders to provide student/participant group updates on an adhoc or asneeded basis
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with local industry and global partners
  • Coordinates with the School of English Language Studies, Student Services, and the Registrar's Office to have grade reports and certificates prepared for graduation ceremonies or couriered to partners around the world
  • Other related duties as required

Qualifications:


  • 2year diploma in business, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Experience in Salesforce and/or SharePoint are considered assets
  • Experience working with international students and program planning logistics
  • Must be able to work independently, exercise initiative and good judgement, sensitivity, and confidentiality in dealing with internal NC departments, GCTC groups, and industry and international partners
  • Strong intercultural communication skills; experience working in a diverse environment or crosscultural competencies obtained by living abroad
First consideration will be given to internal employees. Internal employees are those classified as regular part-time within the Part-Time Support Staff bargaining unit.
