    Turner Fleischer is one of Canada's most progressive architectural firms, with an agile studio of 250+ committed, creative and driven professionals. We excel at developing client-centric concepts that are based on their needs but grounded in over 49 years of experience getting projects built. Our in-house design departments include Residential + Mixed-Use, Commercial + Industrial, Interior Design and Experiential Graphic Design. In addition, we have a Digital Practice Department, who commits to the implementation of BIM, research + develop, and the infusion of cutting-edge technology into our projects and practice.

    What are we looking for?

    We have an immediate opening for Intermediate/Senior Architectural Designers within our Residential + Mixed-Use and Commercial + Industrial department. The ideal candidate has a strong design sensibility and interest in the construction process. You must be self-motivated, and highly skilled in the production and coordination of deliverables to successfully execute projects autonomously.

    What you will do:

    • Understanding budget, scope of work and schedule prior to commencement of a project.
    • Preparing drawings/documents using Revit in accordance with client specifications, budget, applicable building codes, and project timelines.
    • Working closely with our Design Director to propose inspiring building designs and prepare design packages using SketchUp and the Adobe Creative Suite in accordance with client requests.
    • Ensuring work adheres to TF drawing standards and reviewing work of other team members for the same.
    • Presenting design solutions to clients, consultants and contractors as required throughout a project's lifecycle.
    • Leveraging technology to increase efficiency and enhance visual presentations.
    • Identifying issues of potential risk proactively during the life of an assigned project.
    • Attending offsite work, including site visits, meetings with clients, consultants, contractors and municipalities.

    What you will bring:

    • Degree/Diploma from an accredited institution in Architecture.
    • 2 - 5 years of progressively more responsible roles within Architecture firms, preferably in Residential + Mixed-Use or Commercial + Industrial projects.
    • Proficient experience in Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Good working knowledge of applicable building codes and municipal by-laws.
    • An understanding and experience of the municipal approval process.
    • Seeking and sharing knowledge of current design techniques, building systems, design trends and developments to improve technical skills and project quality.
    • Willingness to work in a hybrid role, with 2 days in the studio.
