Wood performs consulting and EPCM services for many of Pulp and Paper clients throughout the world.

Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a

Process Technical Specialist. Reporting to the Technical Director, Forest Industries, this position is located in our Vancouver, BC office. Travel will be required. If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast paced environment, this is the opportunity for you.


Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and developing paper/pulp mill upgrade studies and implementation projects
  • Working in a multidiscipline environment throughout the project lifecycle to develop, define and deliver both small and large capital projects
  • Preparing and upgrading process designs
  • Providing process technical support to paper/pulp mills in solving daytoday problems and optimizing production processes
  • Managing resource allocation, proposals and client reports

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in developing and delivering projects in the Pulp and Paper industry
  • Field engineering, construction and commissioning experience will be a significant benefit
  • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing mill processes/operations will be a significant benefit
  • Good communication skills including excellent oral, written and presentation skills for communication with internal team, stakeholders and clients
  • Good planning, organizational, analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to travel to field locations as required and maintain Class 5 driver license in a good standing
