What responsibilities will you have in this role?


Under the direction and in coordination with the Manager, Business Development & Account Management and the Senior Global Solutions Studio, the BSI Project Manager will oversee BSI projects.


  • Develops fee proposals, design briefs, workplans, project charters, staffing plans, deliverables and presentations for the projects of the studio.
  • Oversees BSI projects on a daily basis and ensures that timelines, budgets and project deliverables are being met and are of a high standard of quality in compliance with the targets of the brief and the guidance from the Directors.
  • Develops an integrated project schedule including the critical path for the endtoend tasks and activities necessary to successfully implement the project.
  • Manages projects and regularly updates BSI Clients to ensure the projects are on schedule and meeting client established objectives.
  • Manages scope creep and approval processes for transformation and extension of contracts.
  • Possesses special communication skills both internally and externally with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Updates reporting tools/software as required to accurately reflect project progress/issues to inform the leadership of project status and to identify where interventions are needed.
  • Works collaboratively with teams, and proactively identifies opportunities to improve the project and streamline processes.
  • Collaborates and works with the BSI multimedia designer, internal BSI multimedia staff, design researchers and project managers in coordination with the Director of the Global Solutions Studio.
  • Develops and manages documentation and reporting for internal and external audiences.
  • Maintains project charter (e.g. updates).
  • Ensures accuracy of project management communications (e.g. internal and external).
  • Other related duties as assigned.

What qualifications do you need for this role?

  • Four year Bachelor's Degree of Arts, Science, Commerce or Environmental Studies from a recognized postsecondary institution in Design, Architecture, Fine Arts, Sociology or equivalent field.
  • Minimum five years of overall industry experience would be required, including two to three years of experience managing teams.
  • Project Management Professional Certification is an asset.
  • Prior experience with key corporate accounts from project acquisition to project delivery.
  • Experience in a startup culture would be considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to convey the conceptual and practical aspects of a program's curriculum to students, respecting their diverse backgrounds, experience and individual learning styles is also a requirement.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues and demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet a challenging deadline.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and processes.
  • Experience working in environmental and sustainability consulting or project consulting settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to diversity and equity are essential to interact effectively with the College's diverse student and staff population.
  • Ability to travel between campuses, offcampus, out of city, and out of the country for events, business development and client management as required.
  • Demonstrated leadership in delivering excellent service to others as this is key in supporting the success of our students and our College.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles.
  • Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decisionmaking processes.
