Regular Full-time opportunity for a
Patient Care Manager II in the
B4 NVU at our
Bayview Campus.

**Hours of Work: Monday to Friday; flexibility required


Summary of Duties


The Neurovascular Unit (NVU) is a 27 bed unit which will include specialized stroke ward beds and level 1 & 2 ICU beds.

The Patient Care Manager (PCM) collaborates with team members to achieve operational and patient-focused care objectives within the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program.

The role includes creating and maintaining a supportive environment for patients and staff, providing leadership, facilitating staff and team development, managing budgets and material resources, and facilitating quality improvement.

The PCM is also accountable for ensuring that care requirements are met, and that patient care issues, problems and concerns identified by patients and their families are addressed.

Sunnybrook is a Regional Stroke Centre, and as such, the PCM supports the provision of best practice stroke care on the NVU that is connected with the broader system of stroke care in Toronto.


Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree in Health Sciences, Public Administration or Management required.
  • Member of a regulated health profession.
  • Registration with a professional regulatory college.
  • Minimum three years acute care clinical experience.
  • Critical care experience preferred.
  • Stroke and neuro experience preferred.
  • Recent relevant management experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence and patientfocused care, including shared governance and interprofessional care teams
  • Demonstrated excellent change management and project management skills
  • Demonstrated coaching and empowering style of management
  • Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and innovation
  • Superior leadership, communication, team building and decisionmaking skills
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fastpaced, constantly changing environment
