Temporary Position - Up to 16 Weeks

What We Do


WIN House provides individuals and their children fleeing violence crisis response and intervention, safe temporary accommodation, and support for basic needs.

Clients are offered trauma-informed, client-centered programming and support, access to resources, information, and referrals to community support. WIN House is working towards operating within a low-barrier model of care and is a non-colonial structure.


What You Will Do


Under the guidance of the HR Manager, the Human Resources Administrator will gain hands-on experience in various HR functions and contribute to the overall success of WIN House.

Support will come from wide range of areas including recruitment and selection, orientation and onboarding, HR process improvement, and reporting and systems.


  • Support in maintaining and updating HR records and databases both electronically and paper based.
  • Collaborate with HR team members on the creation, maintenance and organization of templates, reporting, presentations, and other documentation.
  • Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, reference checks, and interview coordination if needed.
  • Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire documentation and assisting in orientation sessions as required.
  • Bring forward any HR best practices and trends to contribute fresh ideas to the team.
  • Participates in other projects and duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • Currently enrolled in a postsecondary program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in HR and a desire to pursue a career in this field.
  • Experience in recruitment and selection, occupational health and safety, WCB, disability management, and HR systems an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Detailoriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Selfmotivated and eager to learn.

The Details
Standard hours of work are 8:30 A.M to 4:30 P.M. from Monday to Thursday and from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. on Fridays. Win House offers a pet-friendly, team-oriented working environment. The rate of pay for this term position is $20/hour.


Prerequisites
As per the Canada Summer Job Grant Program, to be eligible youth must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
