Your Opportunity at ARC'TERYX:


  • As a Global Planning Analyst, you play an important role in the creation and alignment of processes, tools, strategies, accessibility, and communication across the Merchandise Planning & Allocations (MP&A) team. You work as the MP&A data scientist to find optimisations to improve ROI across a variety of portfolios.

  • The Merchandise Planning & Allocation team is a cross functional group whose focus is to continuously drive sales and margin, while mitigating inventory risks by finding the balance between the right product at the right quantity in the right place at the right time.

If you were a Global Planning Analyst now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Supporting the creation, data structure, consolidation, and communication of our transition to an OpenToBuy (OTB) planning methodology
  • Strategizing and executingglobal allocation priorities to balance profitability, cashflow, and ensuring that how we show up is in line with the strategic vision of the brand
  • Creating reproducible and scalable tools to assist all functions within MP&A in efficiency and crossfunctional alignment
  • Collaborating with the merchant teams, commercial teams, and supply chain to gain an understanding of the business at both a strategic and tactical level
  • Seeking and implementing novel solutions to routine planning processes
  • Providing the MP&A team with routine and ad hoc reporting requests with the goal of streamlining, consolidating, and automating communications
  • Driving actions to maintain optimal inventory coverage across all regions, channels, and ordertypes
  • Creating our constrained buy plans, reconciling the decisions back to merchandise planning team

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Working closely with Merchandise Planners to improve forecast accuracy at model, article, and SKU level
  • Collaborating with the Global Commercial Team in the sales forecasting process to capture all necessary information that may impact sales performance or trends to drive forecast accuracy improvement
  • Collaborating with Supply Chain and Logistics to adjust transit methods and redirect inventory to maximize fulfillment and profitability
  • Using all current known statistical forecasting methodology and improving on existing processes whenever possible
  • Auditing multiple data sets and reports to ensure accuracy, validity, and data integrity
  • Creating multiscenario plans on pricing, margin, and distribution to support the Merchant team's brand vision and overall company EBIT.
  • Balance business priorities and pressure supply chain constraints to create the most optimal constrained SKU level buy plan

Are you our next Global Planning Analyst?:

  • You have a University degree in Math, Economic, Statistics, Finance, Business or equivalent
  • You have 3+ years of Sales Forecasting, Demand Planning, Retail Buying or Supply Planning experience
  • You have outstanding analytical abilities, combined with strong business acumen
  • You have the ability to master the numbers as well as relating data in a meaningful way to others, specifically to Global Commercial Team
  • You have strong attention to detail, the ability to work with a high degree of ambiguity and a high level of comfort in working with large quantities of data
  • You have advanced Excel Skills
  • You have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • You have strong organizational skills
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
  • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions using keen business acumen and priority judgement, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
