We are currently looking for 1st - 4th year Plumbing Apprentices to join our team.

Responsibilities will include:

Assist and learn from Journeyman Plumbers in all areas of commercial plumbing, including but not limited to:

  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
  • Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
  • Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
  • Assist with material handling
  • Maintain clean working area at all times, perform housekeeping duties on site
  • Ensure full compliance with Trotter & Morton Safety programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:


  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Competent use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to work with others as part of a team
  • Progress within the plumbing trade through a recognized apprenticeship program, example SAIT
  • Work at various construction sites and projects within Alberta.
  • Physical stamina required to:
- use proper lifting techniques for heavy pipes weighing in excess of 25 kilograms
- be on your feet for long periods
- sometimes work in cramped positions

  • Ability to work on constructions sites which may be outside
Required Experience

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Pre-Apprentice experience considered an asset
  • Plumbing Apprenticeship Schooling and related hours of Experience
  • Experience in commercial construction is an asset
