We are looking to hire hard-working and committed individuals who will contribute to our team of experienced personnel by bringing a willingness to learn and an entrepreneurial spirit to every project.

We are currently looking for 1st - 4th year Plumbing Apprentices to join our team.

Responsibilities will include:

Assist and learn from Journeyman Plumbers in all areas of commercial plumbing, including but not limited to:

Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines
Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
Assist with material handling
Maintain clean working area at all times, perform housekeeping duties on site
Ensure full compliance with Trotter & Morton Safety programs
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

Mechanical Aptitude
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Competent use of hand and power tools
Ability to work with others as part of a team
Progress within the plumbing trade through a recognized apprenticeship program, example SAIT
Work at various construction sites and projects within Alberta.
Physical stamina required to:

- use proper lifting techniques for heavy pipes weighing in excess of 25 kilograms
- be on your feet for long periods
- sometimes work in cramped positions

Ability to work on constructions sites which may be outside

Required Experience

High School Graduate or equivalent
Pre-Apprentice experience considered an asset
Plumbing Apprenticeship Schooling and related hours of Experience
Experience in commercial construction is an asset
