Support Officer, School of Health


Reporting to the Manager of Academic Services and Operations, School of Health, the School of Health Support Officer engages in various administrative activities to support the school's strategic and operational priorities.

The incumbent works closely with the Project Specialist, Academic Initiatives to assist in the development and execution of school-wide communications and engagement initiatives including: writing, leading and maintaining the communications HUB, newsletter, distribution lists, graphic design & video production, ACE & internal/external events (virtual & in-person).


Responsibilities:

The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to the following:

Administrative Support
-
Provides administrative support for the operations team and the Dean's office.

  • Assists in the creation and management of School of Health Event calendars distribution lists and templates.
  • Assists in updating relevant guidelines and processes as needed.
  • Gathers data and research to generate reports as required.
  • Participates in college wide surveys as an Ambassador for the School of Health.
  • Helps to support continued maintenance of processes, practices and procedures and assist in identifying areas for improvement.
  • Responsible for file management, tracking actions plan and data analysis as required to support activities.

School of Health Communications
-
Provides effective coordination of school-wide communications, working with Mohawk College's marketing team to design multimedia content for print, web and social media in accordance with the college's brand guidelines.

  • Prepares and reviews internal communications for the school, ensuring accurate information and messaging.
  • Provides support for School of Health special projects: Including working with the marketing department to develop program specific marketing material, information packages, program handbooks, certificates and onepagers for use online, in programs and for distribution to clients and potential partners.

Engagement Support
-
Facilitates the production and delivery of in-person and virtual meetings including coordinating the agenda, content and logistics, calendar invites and attendee tracking, prepares presentations and PowerPoint slides, administers and evaluates surveys, moderates Q&A, meeting minutes and summary notes, coordinating presenters and guest speakers. For virtual events - runs production through online meeting platform.

  • Supports and delivers the School of Health's internal employee engagement and recognition program
  • Achieve Celebrate Exchange "ACE". Including sending out communications, development and implementation of new and exciting initiatives that encourage participation and promote the program.
  • Acts as the main point of contact for staff and faculty in School of Health with regard to inquiries and information requests related to school and collegewide initiatives, events and activities.
  • Works closely with the Dean and Manager, Academic Services & Operations to support all communication requirements within the School across multiple campuses.

Qualifications:


  • A minimum of two year postsecondary education in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of three years of practical experience, in a serviceoriented or eventoriented environment; knowledge of School of Health.
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively interculturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
