Summer Student - Business Services

Grand Erie's 2800 employees provide quality education to approximately 26,000 full-time equivalent students who attend our 72 schools. The Board spans a geographic area encompassing the City of Brantford and the Counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk. The head office is located in Brantford.


Responsibilities:


Under the direction of the office of the Supervisor of Business Services, the student will work with the Business Services team to provide support to reception services and accounts payable.

Specific duties would include organizing invoices received through APX as well as external and interoffice mail, matching purchase order to invoices, reconciling vendor statements, organizing Purchasing card submissions and checking for accuracy of submission backup, as well as data entry and filing.

A special project assigned to this student would be to digitalize all trust agreements held for student awards.


Qualifications:


  • College or University student currently enrolled in Business Administration or Accounting required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as a team and independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Specifications

Hours of Work

  • 28 hours per week (Monday-Thursday)
    Rate of Pay
- $15.50 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
