ABOUT THE JOB


Canadian Mental Health Association, BC is looking for a Bilingual Coach to be a part of CMHA National BounceBack / Retrouver son entrainMC project.

BounceBack is a self-guided, skill-building program designed to help adults and youth 15+ manage low mood, mild to moderate depression, anxiety, stress or worry.

Delivered online or over the phone with a coach, clients receive access to tools that will support them on their path to mental wellness.

This position reports to the National Manager, BounceBack.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide guided selfhelp through telephone and/or group support based on a specified protocol to patient/clients (youth and adult) taking part in the program.
  • Supporting primary health care patients to acquire selfhelp strategies to manage anxiety and/or depression.
  • Liaise with primary care providers to facilitate delivery of the BounceBack program.
  • Maintain effective communication between CMHA National and CMHA BC Division, program participants, Clinical Consultants/other clinical oversight.
  • Provide motivational support and encouragement, reinforce workbook concepts and activities, and problemsolve to promote program completion.
  • Initiate and maintain a responsive, accessible service.
  • Report any patient/client concerns or safety issues immediately to the patient/client's primary health care provider and the program's clinical oversight lead as assigned.
  • Administer pre and post program structured questionnaires measuring patient/client's quality of life and anxiety/depression symptoms.
  • Maintain patient/client records documenting progress through the selfhelp program and enter information in a timely manner into a secure database.
  • Order and distribute hardcopy BounceBack workbooks to participants as required.
  • Maintain a flexible working schedule to ensure coaching services are offered at convenient times to the patient/client.

ABOUT YOU
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline along with a minimum of 3 years of workrelated experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience may be considered.
  • Available to work across Canadian time zones.
  • Passion and interest in mental health, knowledge of the principles of cognitivebehavioral therapy, and the ability to relate to older adults with multiple health problems would be vital for the role.
  • Lived experience with mental illness including mood problems, either through self or a loved one would be an asset.
  • Health care/notforprofit experience preferred.
  • Possess indepth knowledge of CBT principles/methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the BounceBack program an asset.
  • Willingness to attend posthire training events and participation at supervisory teleconferences.
  • Expert working knowledge using Microsoft Office product suite required.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records database systems an asset.
  • A criminal record check including vulnerable sector is required.
Skills and Abilities

  • Oral and written fluency in French and English is mandatory in this role.
  • Strong coalition and relationshipbuilding skill to strengthen trust among individuals
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Selfstarter able to work with limited supervision in a remote work setting.
  • Capability to work independently and within group dynamics as required.
  • Innovative thinker with strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient critical and analytical thinking, problem solving and judgment abilities
  • Highly motivated and passionate about mental health.
  • Willingness flexible hours of operation may include evenings

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is remote based.
  • Flexible hours of operation that includes evenings.
  • Work in a variety of settings or in partnership with other health agencies may be required.
  • Attending posthire training events and participation at supervisory meetings is a requirement.
  • The position is unionized through the Health Sciences Association of B.C with the Health Science Professionals bargaining unit and the hourly rate is $31.9
  • This is a term position with an anticipated end date of December 31, 2023, with the possibility of an extension.
