Digital/E-commerce advisors will have the opportunity to work with local small businesses to assess their digital needs and help them develop their e-commerce strategies and deploy new digital technologies.

Digital/E-commerce Youth Advisors


What you will do


E-commerce/Digital advisors will have the opportunity to work with local small businesses to assess their digital needs and help them develop their e-commerce strategies and deploy new digital technologies.

Roles and responsibilities may include but not limited to

  • Work collaboratively with both fellow E-Commerce Advisors as well as successful grant recipients to assist in the development and implementation of as outlined in their Grown Your Business Application.
  • Completes documentation and reporting as required and outlined in CDAP contribution agreement.
  • Website search engine optimization
  • Website Ecommerce
  • Loyalty programs
  • Back Office Solutions for small & medium businesses
  • Advisory Services
  • Cybersecurity
  • Develop & implement marketing & promotional strategies for business
  • Guide social media program planning and ecommerce promotional plans.

What you will learn

  • Understanding the Grow Your Business Online grants
  • Learning the capabilities of several ecommerce solutions and related tools
  • Understanding the basics of cyber security
  • Developing communication skills
  • Determining an individual business's needs and values
  • Develop industry specific marketable skills and experience to assist with future career development and decision making
  • Advisors will also be developing their soft skills and learning how to tailor advice to the needs of each business.

Purpose

Eligibility Requirements:


  • Between the ages of 18 and 30 (inclusive) at the time of intake/selection
- individuals who have graduated from high school and are planning on pursuing a post-secondary education.

  • Individuals currently pursuing postsecondary education; or,
  • Individuals who have recently graduated from a postsecondary institution.
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_*.
  • Be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations; and
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment
  • Confirmation of level of schooling

This is a Training opportunity that pays $456/week for 16 weeks
