OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW:


Reporting into the Director, Airports (WASCO), the Project Lead will work closely with the Project Quality Director related to P3 quality assurance activities.

The position will be responsible for providing leadership in an ISO registered Quality Management System while contributing to the process of continuous improvement, service delivery and project expectations.

The Project Lead will also manage WASCO specific Quality Assurance Program requirements for current and future clients.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintain the requirements and principles of ISO9001 standard and any other applicable standard as it relates to the project agreement.
  • Collaborates on Quality Audit Plans, schedules, and coordinates Internal and external Quality audits of key processes with airport personnel, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Ensures QMS and documentation are always compliant with ISO900
  • Coordinates and summarizes data for Management Review meetings.
  • Acting as single point of contact with Project Coordinator, provides and delivers documents for submission to Government of Nunavut as it pertains to our project agreement.
  • Actively participates in the annual review of airport management systems.
  • Ensures that relevant Quality Records are completed as required and retained in accordance with the Quality Management System and the Records Management protocol.
  • Assists in establishing and communicating quality objectives, actioning risks and opportunities related to the Quality management system.
  • Understanding ISO Integrated management systems such as ISO 14000, ISO 27000, ISO 5000
  • Remains fully informed on all existing and proposed changes in applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Maintains a program for Corrective Action and Preventative Action for Non-Conformities.
  • The development of business strategies and plans to drive improvements to efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop service level deliverables and create and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate performance to internal/external customers.
  • Assume the responsibility of business system owner for relevant software systems.
  • Responsible for the financial management of the department including preparation of the departmental budget and ongoing monthly monitoring of costs.
  • Identify, report, assess, correct, and otherwise ensure compliance with Transport Canada applicable regulations, interact with regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure the Project Agreement is meeting our contractual obligations as it pertains to the Quality program parameters.
  • Responsible for making decisions on matters of personnel and departmental significance in collaboration with the team.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Postsecondary degree, certificate program, formal training in Quality Management.
  • Experience with an ISO 9001 based quality system.
  • Successfully completed an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor course.
  • Experience in document control management.
  • Experience in the development of airport management systems, including Quality Manuals/Plans, system procedures, and work instructions.
  • Previous experience in managing deliverables with milestones and dependencies.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written/oral communications skills and experience conducting presentations.
  • Possess a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office products (including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio)
  • Customer service and business development oriented.

Preferred:


  • Professional designation in Airport Management and/or Quality Management
  • Experience in continuous improvement.
  • Experience in LEAN methodologies.
  • Interest and wiliness to investigate new technologies.
