Role Overview:


The Manager, PAD Knowledge & Connection (PAD K&C), is accountable for developing, delivering, and evaluating a range of assets for Diabetes Canada's (DC) suite of People Affected by Diabetes (PAD) education and support tools and programming, including print resources, videos and webinars.

Additionally, this role is accountable for supporting the planning and delivery of DC's PAD conferences.


This role includes, but not limited to:

  • Supports the Senior Manager, PAD K&C, in executing an overall strategic approach that provides PAD with up-to-date, easy-to-understand, relevant diabetes-related information
  • Plans, sources, writes/produces and reviews content for PADfacing assets (e.g., print resources, webinars, videos, conferences)
  • Acts as the chief coordinator and point of contact, and provides guidance and support, for contributors to PADfacing assets
  • Develops terms of engagement and protocols for relevant advisory committees and speakers
  • Contributes to the promotion and marketing of new and existing PAD education and support tools, programs and resources
  • Develops and implements mechanisms (e.g., environmental scans, surveys) to assess PAD needs; collects, reviews and presents data
  • Contributes to ethnocultural outreach efforts, including building of relationships with diverse communities and community leaders to understand learning needs and support establishing a diverse volunteer base
  • Assists as appropriate with the development of PADrelated key performance indicators (KPI)
  • Coordinates the collection of KPI metrics for all PAD K&C assets
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a relevant field
  • Healthcare professional credentialing (e.g., RN, RD, RPh) considered an asset
  • 35 years of experience in patient/caregiver education in a notforprofit, healthcare or other healthrelated setting
  • Experience planning and delivering health education initiatives
  • Experience with MS Office suite of products, MS Teams and database management
  • Proficiency in a second language considered an asset
  • Excellent written and spoken communications
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Ability to work constructively and professionally with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
  • Critical thinker and selfstarter with strong research and informationgathering skills
  • Proficient in drafting health promotion and education communications
  • Strong digital media skills, including digitalrelated technologies
