Field Mechanic

Double Star Drilling. Is looking for an experienced, full time
Field
Mechanic. We are looking for an outgoing, adaptable individual looking to learn and grow within our team and industry.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Diagnose and repair various types of heavy equipment (CAT, Liebherr, John Deere, Hitachi, Komatsu, SoilMec, Commachio, Bauer) in a safe and environmentally friendly manner to maximize equipment availability and performance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and servicing of fleet vehicles, small equipment, and heavy equipment
  • Complete detailed reports on service and repairs at the end of each shift
  • Maintain all equipment on a continuous basis including keeping it clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
  • Communicate updates pertaining to maintenance, safety and/or environmental issues to supervisor on a daily basis
  • Take oil samples and complete necessary paperwork required to process
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and regular safety meetings
  • Promote safety awareness by ensuring compliance of corporate health and safety policies and procedures
  • Report all incidents, damage and near misses immediately

Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience working as a Mechanic in Construction or Drilling
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (clean abstract) with own transportation
- _Note: Adherence to Company Drug and Alcohol Policy for all Field Mechanics._

  • Valid CSTS2020
  • Valid WHMIS 2015 certification
  • Valid First Aid considered an asset
  • Valid Journeyman Trade Certification

  • Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to participate positively in an engaging culture
  • Must be able to organize and plan tasks, with an ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Must be dependable
  • Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment

Working Conditions:


  • Overtime as required
