Operations Supervisor

Title:

Reports To:
Operations Manager


Territory:
North York, ON


Status:
Full-time, Permanent


PURPOSE:


WORK HOURS:
Minimum forty hours per week or per operational needs including weekends. Must be available on call during operating hours as needed.


ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Accountability of the terminal's delivery and sortation performance
  • Lead a team of dispatchers & associates
  • Set action plans for continuous quality improvement
  • Coaching and mentoring of associates
  • Advocate safe driving practices both on the road and in the delivery terminal
  • Effectively delegate tasks as needed
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance service for conveyor system and other facility equipment
  • Ensure that the facility is compliant with Occupational Health and Safety standards, as well as all associates, contractors, employees working within the premises
  • Understand and utilize full suite of the Fleet Optics software, including phone app, online portal, tracking page, etc.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in a supervisory role within the transportation and logistics industry
  • Post secondary education in logistics, supply chain, operations considered an asset
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Some understanding of IT preferred
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills required
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Geographical knowledge of the GTA preferred
