Jardeg is seeking a highly skilled
Trades Sourcer/Recruiter to be based in
Calgary or Edmonton.


This position will be reporting to the Talent Acquisition Lead and will be part of the strategic sourcing team which drives talent attraction activities to build specific trade networks for future opportunities within the business.


In addition, they must possess fantastic communication skills, and ability to stay organized combined with a strong customer service orientation.


This position is permanent, with hybrid/remote work options available.

Responsibilities may include:


  • Networking with industry leaders and the craft workers through cold calling, referrals, social media, and alumni.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of working with our organization.

Collaboration with other Talent Acquisition peers:

  • Work closely with recruiters to understand the specific requirements of each open position and develop targeted sourcing strategies accordingly.
  • Supporting the recruitment and hiring process of craft for various sites (Oil sands mining projects, refineries, SAGD, Upgraders etc) using the Jardeg recruitment process.

Market Research:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscapes, and talent pools to provide valuable insights for recruitment strategies.

Data Management:

  • Generate reports and metrics to track sourcing effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma and minimum 3 years of directly related trades hiring experience.
  • Experience sourcing/recruiting TRADE/CRAFT roles within the Oil and Gas industry is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have strong negotiation, analytical skills, and the ability to make cold calls.
  • Strong attention to detail, team player, work well with others, and organization skills.
  • Ability to change recruitment direction and priorities, based on ever changing critical needs.
  • Able to work in fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to travel to site as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary education within Human Resources or Business related fields preferred; CPHR or RPR preferred.
  • High volume recruiting experience is an asset.
  • Expert Computer Skills: SuccessFactors Applicant Tracking System or prior experience with an applicant tracking system is an asset.
  • Understanding of Canadian Provincial Apprenticeship and Trades Certification system.
