Sample Logistics Coordinator


The registration of agricultural chemicals depends on the submission of comprehensive crop efficacy, tolerance, residue and field dissipation studies to governmental regulatory authorities.

This position is our internal resource to cross functionally support research in the form of supplying test materials for Agronomic Development, Environmental Affairs, Market Development and Marketing in generating data for support of product registration.

This is a permanent lab-based position and is based out of Saskatoon, SK.


What you will do:


  • Coordination of all aspects having to deal with chemical sample logistics to support research functions within or sponsored by the Canadian organization:
  • Collect forecasts/orders from Canadian research function
  • prioritize, source, procure and add samples to Saskatoon Chemical Samples Lab inventory in preparation of season ordering, distribution and disposal
  • Procure chemical products requested via internal or external. Receive bulk chemical and coordinate distribution of smaller volumes to researchers. Prioritize, track, pour, label and ship of all chemical research samples
  • Complete all necessary documentation required for efficient and transparent coordination of chemical sample movement
  • Populate the regional tool (SWATT
  • Sample Web and Trial Tracking) and global tool (Velocity/RoSaL) as required throughout the coordination of chemical sample activities
  • Ensure disposal of chemical samples within Chemical Samples Lab according to Bayer Crop Science's guidelines and inline with local and/or provincial regulations
  • Establish and maintain an electronic library of industry appropriate SDSs
  • Support PMC Minor Use research, BCS USA and/or BCS global research activities through provision of any requested and approved BCS CND chemical samples
  • Develop and maintain relationship with the Canadian Global Trade team to ensure smooth and timely sample imports and exports
  • Manage all Sustainability, Safety, Health & Environment requirements as they relate directly to the Chemical Sample Lab. Includes reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures and Job Descriptions Analysis
  • Operates in compliance with the GLP guidelines to support the Canadian directed GLP research program, as required, for:
  • Coordination of GLP sample logistics
  • Source GLP Certificates of Analysis, when required, from global experts
  • Maintain GLP site certification and training
  • Maintain open communication with all key stakeholders related to the Chemical Samples Lab function and operation
  • Support Field Solutions team with Compliance & Stewardship activities and/or requirements, as well as with Sustainability, Safety, Health & Environment requirements

Who you are:


  • B.Sc. in related field plus 2/+years relevant experience; or a Diploma in related sciencebased field with 3/+years relevant experience.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG, IATA, and 49CFR), training and certification
  • Familiar with ordering and inventory control processes is an asset
  • Strong understanding of chemistry
  • Familiarity with agriculture chemical products is an asset
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate remote teams
  • Ability to master ongoing changes covering complex technical details and problem solving
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to travel to meetings within Canada and the USA approximately 2 times a year
  • Computer operation skills including proficiency in use of MS Office and ability to learn and utilize internal database tools
