Marketing and Communications Manager.

CLH is the region's largest service provider for individuals with developmental disabilities such as Down Syndrome and Autism.

We have redefined our Mission, Vision and Values and are establishing a new strategic plan for the next three to five years.

The Marketing and Communications Manager will be on the ground floor to help bring those values and ideals to life.


ROLE


We're looking for a professional communicator who has experience in the social services sector and is familiar with the trends that shape it.

We want to attract someone who shares our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusiveness and has the talent and drive to transform that passion into action.

The Marketing and Communications Manager reports to the Executive Director and will:

  • Ensure the achievement of our vision through the design and implementation of an innovative story-telling and relationship-building strategic plan
  • Raise our brand's profile through effective public relations, advertising, social media and community relations initiatives
  • Responsible for CLHs communications (including media relations, issues management, internal communications, and community relations), marketing and branding, and public affairs with all three levels of government
  • Provide communications counsel and support to CLH's leaders and teams
  • Develop and supervise all marketing and communications strategies for the organization

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and amplify CLH's brand personality on all content channels, including earned, owned, paid and influencer media
  • Build optimal relationships with critical internal and external stakeholders enhance our organizational culture and reputation through those relationships
  • Develop business cases, where applicable related to resource needs with funders and community partners
  • Develop and manage Grant proposals
  • Manage relationships with key funders, community partners and suppliers
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of key organization events
  • Lead development of branded content materials including the annual report, newsletter, videos, brochures, fundraising packages, leadership blogs, etc.
  • Generate news releases and pitch story ideas that lead to traditional and social media coverage highlighting CLH's role and value
  • Generate social media content that encourages positive public interaction through twoway, symmetrical communication
  • Monitor and evaluate media, social media and reputation data to derive insights and implement enhancements
  • Support special projects and organizational/fundraising events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A fouryear degree or equivalent from a recognized postsecondary institution in Communications or Marketing
  • Accreditation as a professional communicator preferred
  • APR or ABC
  • 7+ years of professional experience in communications and marketing, ideally in the social service sector
  • Previous experience working in a large organization with comprehensive reporting structures and advanced administrative processes is an asset
  • Exceptional communications skills: writing, editing, presentation, listening and interpersonal
  • Experience with Adobe creative cloud is considered an asset (i.e. photoshop, illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with Facebook paid advertising, Hootsuite, Survey Monkey, and automated marketing platforms like Mail Chimp or Constant Contact
  • Experience using Google Analytics and Google AdWords
  • Indepth understanding of the evolving media landscape with expertise across traditional media and digital platforms
  • Experience with a balanced scorecard approach to strategic planning
