Centre for Sexuality is a community-based organization that provides access to non-judgmental sexual and reproductive health services and support.

We are hiring an amazing facilitator to join our motivated team with a mission to normalize sexual health in Alberta.

This position will have a strong focus on our WiseGuyz Community Programming.

The WiseGuyz Program is a community-facilitated, gender-transformative healthy relationships program developed by the Centre for Sexuality.

It facilitates mid-adolescent, male-identified youth to critically examine and deconstruct male gender role stereotypes and expectations, with the objective of improving the mental and sexual health of young men and reducing male-perpetrated dating violence.

As an internationally recognized inclusive masculinity program, WiseGuyz benefits from significant academic research partnerships.

  • Implement and facilitate the WiseGuyz community program curriculum tailored to specific community settings with maleidentified participants aged 122
  • Implement and facilitate the WiseGuyz curriculum to program fidelity in schoolbased settings with grade 8 and 9, maleidentified students.
Maintain positive and mutually beneficial relationships with school and community partners.

  • Create safer learning environments for youth to participate in transformational learning experiences.
  • Remain up to date with, and employ, best and promising practices in pedagogy, socialemotional learning, sexual health promotion, gender equity and masculinity, relationship education and violence prevention.
  • Participate as an active member of the WiseGuyz team to ensure curriculum content is uptodate and relevant to the needs of the youth we serve.
  • Participate in program evaluations and reporting by collecting, entering, and analyzing program data and outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with community partners for seamless referrals.
  • Actively participate in agency and community collaborations, initiatives, and activities.
  • Participate in regular performance planning and review.
  • Participate in the creation of program promotional material including posters, brochures, and other types of print and online media.

Qualifications and Attributes required:


  • Bachelor's degree in child and youth studies, education, public health, or social work, and/or a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
  • Strong group facilitation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of communitybased resources, an understanding of early childhood development, trauma, adverse childhood experiences, family systems, and risk factors associated with potential victimization and criminal involvement.
  • Knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice System
  • Knowledge of and/or experience facilitating core topics related to the WiseGuyz curriculum.
  • Demonstrated experience with community engagement values and practice.
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to make appropriate referrals.
  • Commitment to organizational values: Social Justice/Feminism, Prevention, Collaboration and Curiosity.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Natural Supports framework.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective conflict resolution, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills.
  • Demonstration of empathy and compassion.
  • Experience addressing homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, and ableism that commonly arise in universal education spaces experiencing transformational learning.
  • Demonstration of curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, in a fast pace, openspace work environment.
  • Ability to facilitate effectively in a virtual setting including operating various online delivery platforms.
  • Follow policy and procedures regarding tracking of time worked, requesting and scheduling time off, requesting program supplies, claiming expenses, and requesting and participating in professional development opportunities.
