Competition Number: 2024.The Porcupine Health Unit is seeking a highly motivated, experienced human resource professional to join our multi-disciplinary management team.
Reporting to the Medical Officer of Health/Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resources Manager works collaboratively with the management team to develop, implement and/or facilitate programs to address human resources issues or trends across the organization.
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of progressive human resources strategies, policies and procedures that align with legislative and collective agreement requirements in support of the mission and strategic direction of the Health Unit.
The Human Resources Manager provides support and guidance to managers and staff at all levels on employment matters such as conflict resolution, performance management, and the promotion of organizational health and wellness.
This position will also provide key support to the teams for the Porcupine Health Unit – Timiskaming Health Unit merger process.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources and/or Business Administration;Designation as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) is required;
Minimum of five (5) years' progressive human resources experience, preferably in a unionized environment;
Demonstrated experience with best practices in the areas of recruitment, collective bargaining, attendance, and performance management.
Experience with the administration of benefits, pension, and disability management.
Fluency in both official languages is considered an asset;
Ability to work flexible hours and travel within and outside the Porcupine Health Unit area;
Travel will be required to office locations within the organization boundaries;
Required to comply with Immunization policies including COVID-19 vaccination unless valid medical exemption is provided.
