Job Duties
- Ensure that all stocks and supplies are requested in a timely fashion so that correct stock levels are maintained and stored under optimum conditions
- Ensure that operating equipment and inventory is used properly and not abused
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, and sales
- Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for beverage and other supplies.
- Schedule and receive beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product and quantity.
- Responsible for the recruitment of new staff and overseeing their training. Ensure employees are trained on their job duties, customer service, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Develop work schedules and assign duties to all staff each shift
- Call in additional staff members to meet restaurant demands or send staff home early as needed. Ensure the correct amounts of employees are present at restaurant
- Ensure that all staff members serving liquor are appropriately certified and over the age of 1
- Ensure effective communication by attending meetings as required and holding staff meetings on a regular basis to impart information
- Maintain a working knowledge of all statutory regulations affecting restaurant health and safety and ensure that any safety hazards are identified and rectified
- Compile and balance cash receipts at the end of the day/shift, administer tips and gratuities in a fair and equitable manner
- Perform various financial activities such as cash handling and deposit preparation
- Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and budgets.
- Ensure that table appointments, including place settings, table arrangements, and decorations are impeccable and that tables are set correctly.
- Ensure that stations have their correct materials in place.
- Handle any customer complaints regarding food quality and service as they arise. Administer appropriate resolutions to complaints.
- Liaise with customers regarding special functions.
- Assists wait and kitchen staff as needed during peak times.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Food Services, Restaurant Management, or an equivalent field OR a minimum three years of experience in the food services industry
- Minimum three years of direct work experience in a supervisory capacity
- Experience in all aspects of customer service and people management;
- Customer serves training or certificate is an asset
- Strong working knowledge of hospitality industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques
- Excellent verbal and oral communication skills, including ability to give directions, converse with customers and communicate with suppliers
- Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
- Completion of a responsible beverage service certificate.
- Experience ordering and monitoring supplies and ensuring appropriate product inventories are in place.
Salary:
$50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
