The Regional Education Consultant is a professional role model and resource person for nursing staff and other members of the health care team in supporting the development of policies and procedures that promote evidence-based practice.

The Consultant is accountable for developing, facilitating, implementing, and evaluating professional educational opportunities for regional partner hospitals, public health and community nursing staff (e.g. training in new technology, medications and procedures for a broad range of practice competencies and medical directives based on patient population).

In addition, the Consultant will also develop, support, implement and evaluate quality improvement initiatives based on both regional and provincial direction/requests.

  • Rate of Pay: $44.78 per hour $55.98 per hourHours of Work: 37.

5 hours per week
Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of a Master's Degree in a health discipline recognized under the Regulated Health Professions Act; Will consider those currently enrolled in a Master's program
  • Current Certificate of Registration with applicable professional College recognized under the Regulated Health Professions Act
  • Successful completion of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Successful completion of the Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Fetal Health Surveillance Instructor preferred
  • Training in adult education preferred
  • Current membership in professional specialty organization preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years recent, related experience in a health care setting
  • A valid Ontario driver's license (G class), use of a vehicle, and current insurance coverage
  • Ability to travel within the Ontario Health West Region
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with professional practice and program development tools
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, team building and conflict management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to network effectively with other disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize fluctuating workload demands
  • Advanced ability to assess clinical competency and facilitate development of learning plan
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Skills as well as online literature searches
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Mission, Vision and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:


  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
