ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:

The Supply Chain Coordinator will identify, source, and procure materials for passenger rail coach refurbishment projects.

Projects are time sensitive and procurement must be executed quickly and accurately to ensure material arrives to meet the proposed production plan.


MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Identify material requirements as required for project based demand
  • Inventory materials and supplies, and reconcile inventory with utilization and/or expected demand as required
  • Research and source new suppliers as required
  • Determine ability of existing vendors to supply materials
  • Prepare RFQs for vendor material required projects
  • Determine factors for supplier selection including price, delivery and quality
  • Create requisitions as needed for parts required for project
  • Issue purchase orders for parts required for project
  • Investigate, resolve and address invoice discrepancies, and warehouse receiving and quality issues in a timely manner
  • Reconcile and procure daily parts that have reached their minimum levels
  • Coordinate subcontract work for parts that are outsourced
  • Prepare packing slips for shipment when parts need to be returned or outsourced
  • Review and process drawings to create, update and maintain bill of materials (BOM)
  • Create inventory numbers, add them to drawings and BOM as required
  • Ensure QA has current revisions
  • Liaise with supplier and engineering after PO is awarded to ensure correct parts are procured to the correct dimensions
  • Coordinate QA inspections when new inventory arrives
  • Manage engineering and supplier for failed QA/NFR
  • Manage parts in inventory software on a regular basis

REQUIREMENTS:


  • University degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) or enrolment in the Supply Chain Management Association of Canada Professional Development Program and working towards the CSCMP Designation
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Supply Chain Management, materials management and procurement
  • Strong computer skills including MS Suite advance level in Excel
  • Knowledge of the ONTC Divisions, commodities, market conditions, transportation methods, customs and tax regulations
  • Knowledge of safety & health regulations, WHMIS regulations and Quality Assurance requirements is an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation and customer service skills
  • Good understanding of planning and scheduling techniques
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and understanding of standards and best practices in materials management and procurement
