We envision a bright future in Coquitlam that we hope includes youOur Parks, Recreation, Culture and Facilities team is currently recruiting for one Regular Full Time Recreation Leader to assist in the development and implementation of youth-related recreational programs and services at City facilities.
This position will be located at Pinetree Community Centre.The role will focus primarily on the youth demographic, with the goal of promoting an inclusive recreation environment.
The Recreation Leader would participate in directly programming and assisting in directing the work of program leaders, instructors and volunteers.
They would also promote interest and encourage youth participation in program activities, while providing guidance and advising facility users on specified activities.
Further, the Recreation Leader would build and maintain effective relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts for the purposes of planning, developing and coordinating programs that are of excellent standard to the public.

The successful candidate will possess post-secondary education in Recreation at a recognized Community College, paired with community recreation experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other requirements include First Aid/CPR - C Certification, a valid BC Driver's License (with satisfactory driving record), and access to reliable transportation.
Further, experience working with a variety of ages within recreation facilities is an asset. Additional training such as High Five Principles, Physical Literacy, NCCP, PDP, or ECE would also be considered assets. Candidates will be required to have flexible evening and weekend availability.The City offers a CUPE hourly rate of $ $ rates) and an excellent benefits package.
