- Provide administrative support to Senior Leadership, Operations Managers, and employees.
- Input all employee changes into our HRIS (Workday) promptly.
- Coordinate employee onboarding and orientations through our HRIS (Workday).
- Act as a bridge between employees and management for HR/union-related matters.
- Assist in managing union contracts and addressing employee concerns within union guidelines.
- Participate in resolving union grievances.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta.
- Maintain accurate personnel records.
- Prepare various employee letters upon request.
- Respond to general HR, benefits, and payroll inquiries.
- Collaborate with hiring managers on recruitment strategies.
- Participate in job and career fairs.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and team members.
- Perform ad hoc tasks as needed.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in HR Coordination, preferably in the construction industry.
- Experience with HRIS Systems, such as Workday, Dayforce, ADP.
- Previous experience with unions and collective bargaining agreements.
- Knowledge of labor laws and best practices in unionized environments.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic setting.
- CHRP designation or working towards it is a plus.
- Results-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills for continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Effective prioritization and multitasking skills.
